And the Amount Is...

Good morning, everyone. Hope you are having a great holiday weekend so far.

First off, I would like to say that I am sorry for not blogging in the last two weeks. It has been a hectic two weeks trying to get things ready for the fundraiser that I held at my church, and speaking at the church that I work at  for their fundraiser for me. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about what I was going to talk about, but hey, my family was there to support me. Thank God for family.

I got through the talk just fine. The podium was there and I was able to support myself by holding onto it. The luncheon was great. We had spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and drink. As of right now, I was given a guesstimate of about $2400. Yes, can you believe it? I couldn't and I am still trying to comprehend the amount. And the total for my fundraiser was $1175. So all together, as a total, that would come to $3575. This really supersedes the total from last year's total...$2500.

Way to go, friends and family.

Good morning, everyone. Hope you have been having a great weekend getting ready to lead into Holy Week. Luckily for me, I have been having a decent weekend with just a few nits and picks. I have finally found a new therapist after not having one for well over a year now. I say this because I cannot stay on the Kidney Transplant list without seeing a therapist on a regular basis. My last therapist was a wonderful man. His name was Brian Simpson. The doctor was a reference from my first therapist, also a wonderful doctor (William Varley). You see, I have to talk to a therapist and each one that I have had has left in one way or another. Dr. Varley semi-retired to Florida. Dr. Simpson was a wonderful man who died while working in his yard. A tree fell on him. And now, I have started seeing a very sweet and caring young woman. This will be a first for me. My, How the Time Flies

Good evening, everyone. Or should I say late night? My gosh, I didn't realize that it had been so long since my last blog.  My last blog was in November and here it is the last February. There has been a lot going on since my last blog entry.  As of this week, I will have to see another specialist in a little over a month. That is the earliest that the neurologist could get me in other than on a day that I would also have my dialysis appointments. Yep, I have been having the signs of neuropathy in my hands, fingers, and feet.  I should have realized that I wouldn't get away from this one. Neuropathy is something that I just heard people talking about. I never thought that I would be one of many with this problem. What can I do to help this? I don't know, and I don't know where I will go from here. No matter what, though, I have to work through this. I have a family that needs me and I have to be the strong one. Cramps

Good afternoon, everyone. Hope you are doing well these days. And yes, I know that it has been over a month since I last blogged. I am sorry for the long length of time of being away from my computer. I have had a couple of tough weeks at dialysis and haven't been up to my normal energized self. The reason that I have had it rough is that I have been cramping up the last 4 or 5 times while being at dialysis. When I get my cramps, they start in my toes. My toes start going every which way and then the cramp goes into the bottoms of my feet. After that, it starts heading up towards my lower leg. And when I get these cramps, it is way worse than when you get a charley horse. And I am sure that most of  you know how bad those can hurt. On the days of these cramps, I am totally worn out when I get home. Therefore, I do not feel up to doing anything else. So please forgive me for not being able to blog as much.
