What Gets Me....

Good morning, everyone. Hope you all are having a great weekend so far. I know I am. Right now, I am hoping that the dialysis center will call me to ask if I would like to come in early today. This is the norm for me on Saturdays. Now, last week, they called me in because they knew that I wanted to spend as much time with my daughter as possible. She was home from NC STATE, and luckily, we were able to have Easter on Saturday since she had to leave on Sunday to head back. What gets me, though, is that most of the dialysis patients try to get off of their dialysis procedures earlier than what they are scheduled for. For each 15 minutes that a patient gets off, that takes off a year of their lives. So, let's say that someone gets off 30 minutes early. That will be taking off two (2) years of their lives. It doesn't take long to add up. And this is why I am persistent about staying on my machine for the duration. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I enjoy my time at the cen

A Week of Craziness

Good evening, everyone! I haven't blogged in a week, so I would like to say that I am sorry for that.It has really been a doozy of a week for me, though. I have been busy with dialysis on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. And this coming week will be another busy one with me getting things straightened out for my fundraiser in a month. The worst thing that happened to me this past week, though, happened on Wednesday afternoon as I was coming from work and going to get my van washed. Well, the thing is, I never did get to wash my van. If I know most of you, you are probably asking why. Okay, I will tell you... As I was driving down the road near Pizza Hut on Ozark, I was hit by another vehicle. It's okay. The mid-2000's black blazer hit my driver-side mirror and if it were to have hit me any harder before swerving back over, I would have been seriously wounded. Trust me on this when I say that God was with me at that time. But, the worse thing of all was when she left

Fundraisers, Fundraisers, & Such

Good morning, everyone. Yes, I know it's early, but hey, right now I have the time. Not much is going on right now other than trying to get ready for two different fundraisers next month. The first fundraiser is the one that my church and I are giving ---- a fundraiser benefit which includes a bake sale, a silent auction, a singing, and a raffle. And with the raffle, there will be something really nice given away if all goes according to plan. So, just wish us luck or try your hand at luck and get in touch with me. Now, the second fundraiser is actually the first one going on. This one was planned last, but will be on the same day as my benefit. They will be on Sunday, May 18. This luncheon will be from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. The other one will be from 4:00 until 7:00 or so. Therefore, my day will be very full. With everything going on in my fundraising life, there are other aspects of my life that are just as busy, if not more so. Right now, my father-in-law is not doing well
