Oh Boy, The Dentist!

Good morning, everyone. Hope you are doing better than me this morning. Yep, you've got it. I went to the dentist at the Women's Hospital yesterday morning. Oh. my. gosh! If I would have known what was to come, I don't know what I would have done instead of getting my teeth pulled at four different intervals of two weeks apart. Yesterday, we  (my mom and daughter, Ashleigh, came with me) got up to the hospital about an hour earlier than my appointment time which was for 10:30 a.m. I am telling all of you about this just in case, okay? So bear with me please. I got back to the dental clinic and they took me in around 10:15 a.m. to my little individual cubical. There are several of these rooms where several patients can be worked on at the same time by different doctors. How many there are of these doctors, I don't know. I don't really care how many there are of them, though. As long as I am getting this done by a good dentist, I don't care. They started wi

Bonding Time

Good evening, everyone. I hope everyone is doing well tonight. As usual, I am doing well, also. Today, my youngest daughter, Jessica, called me from college (NC STATE). She told me that she got a part-time job and will be starting on Sunday. I am so glad that she went out on her own in an area that she didn't know very well and applied for a job. She will be working at Jason's Deli. With the miles between us, I can say that we have bonded more so than I thought. She always calls me on the days that I have dialysis to make sure that I am okay. Today, my oldest daughter, Ashleigh, and I had a day out since it was such a gorgeous day. We just went out for dinner and then window shopping to walk off some of what we ate. We actually bond better doing this. We talk more now. We laugh more, and we just enjoy our time together more. With this in mind, do you do this with your kids or family? In the last two years, I have learned to listen to my daughters more and pay attention t

No Dentist Today, But Yes, There is Snow

Well, the two weeks are up and I was supposed to go to the UNC Women's Hospital this morning. We had to call the hospital two days ago and let them know that we would have to reschedule due to bad weather. The rescheduled appointment has been rescheduled for April 30, more than a month after my last appointment in March (26th). This is going to drive me crazy if I have to wait that long for the last of my teeth to get pulled. All in all, I guess I can't complain since I will be getting new teeth out of this. On the other hand, the same thing as two weeks ago has happened. It has been snowing for the most part of the day here in Lowell, NC. It is so beautiful coming down. But when it comes to getting out in it, that is a different story. I drove in it today coming home from work, and I  had to go really slow to make sure that I didn't have an accident. Yesterday, I had dialysis and had a decent day. I have gotten to where I try to communicate with those around me on a

A Frightening Episode at Dialysis

Good evening, everyone! Hope you are doing well tonight. I am doing as well as can be considering the day that I had at dialysis yesterday. I am not ashamed to tell you that yesterday was a very frightening experience for me. I am going to tell you something that will probably shock some of you. I still cannot understand it myself. Yesterday was going just great at dialysis. It was one of the best days in awhile since I had several of the patients talking to me. I took a small nap. I watched some television. I even read some of my reading book. About 30 minutes or so before I was about to get off of my dialysis machine for the day, I attempted to sit up. I should have realized that I shouldn't have done that. The next thing that I remember is James (one of the nurses) talking to me and asking me questions. Yep, it happened to me. Now, I am telling you that I thought I had just merely passed out. But this morning while I was getting gas, I was told by a friend that I had what

The Word "Love"

Good evening, everyone. I hope you all are doing well tonight. The one thing that I have felt the need to discuss tonight is one that we all can relate to. We all want it, and at one point or another, we eventually get it... Love. The word "love" is defined in the dictionary as: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. sexual passion or desire. a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart. (used in direct address as a term of endearment, affection, or the like): Would you like to see a movie, love? But, how can we say that we use the word wisely and yet not too loosely at the same time? We tell each other "I Love You", but do we really feel it when we say it? I know for a fact that when I say it, I really do mean it. Can you say the same for yourself, though? Have

The Super Bowl, A Special Annioversary, and Catchy Commercials

Good evening, everyone! Hope you are feeling well after watching the super bowl. Everyone knows that I love watching football, especially when it comes to the CAROLINA PANTHERS. But for once, I didn't watch very much of the super bowl tonight. It may have had something to do with the teams that were playing for one. The DENVER BRONCOS were playing against the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS. And neither one of these were among my favorite teams. Now, I will tell you this much. One of the biggest reasons that I didn't see very much of the game was that my brothers and sisters and I had an anniversary dinner for our parents this evening. Tomorrow is their 48th Wedding Anniversary. And I am so thankful for my close-knit family. The reason that I say close-knit is due to the fact that we often have gatherings for each family member when it comes to birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Does this information tell you how old I am? Of course, if you know me well enough, then you will know that I am
